DHS Cyber Storm Website

Cyber Storm, the Department of Homeland Security’s biennial exercise series, provides the framework for the most extensive government-sponsored cybersecurity exercise of its kind. Congress mandated the Cyber Storm exercise series to strengthen cyber preparedness in the public and private sectors. Securing cyber space is the National Cybersecurity Division’s top priority.

Each Cyber Storm builds on lessons learned from previous real world incidents, ensuring that participants face more sophisticated and challenging exercises every two years. Even though the Cyber Storm exercise is publicized, the contents and actual games are classified.

As citizens without clearance, it is difficult to hypothesize or conclude whether or not these exercises are effective and worthwhile. However, viewing the website provides a more informative look at what Cyber Storm entails.

The Cyberwar Gaming Collection includes a fact sheet, article and website of Cyber Storm.
