Title

Statement of General Keith B. Alexander, Commander United States Cyber Command before the House Committee on Armed Services

Description

General Keith Alexander testifies about the newly created U.S. Cyber Command. He explains that the NSA (National Security Agency) and CSS (Central Security Service) are vital to the command's success in protecting the United States against cyber attacks.

The U.S. Cyber Command works within cyberspace, which government and military officials consider a domain of war. General Alexander explains the command center's cybersecurity plan and emphasizes the need for collaboration with other agencies. A common theme amongst government (i.e. Janet Napolitano from the Department of Homeland Security and Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton) is the need for partnerships. Alexander echoes similar sentiments, but the U.S. Cyber Command is a leader for all of the agencies/organizations dedicated to making the United States more secure against cyber attacks.

General Alexander speaks about the U.S. Cyber Command during a CSIS (Center for Strategic and International Studies) debate series. The speech can be found in the Concerned Citizen Directory or here.
